Having lived in Haifa for over six months, I had the chance to explore all of its neighborhoods. However, only one neighborhood truly stole my heart. If life were to decide that I should live in Haifa, without hesitation, I would choose Neot Peres as my permanent place of residence and work in the famous "Silicon Valley" of Haifa - Matam. Why, you might ask? Let me tell you.
The Neot Peres neighborhood is located near the southern entrance of Haifa and is the youngest and most modern district in the city. It offers all the amenities of modern civilization, including shopping centers, schools, kindergartens, offices of global IT corporations, promenades, a stunning beach, gyms, cafes, restaurants, a stadium, football fields, electric car charging stations, and new homes for a peaceful and respectable life. The area also features an automobile and railway station, providing easy access to Tel Aviv within an hour and a wide range of convenient public transportation options.
More than half of the residents in the area work in the IT sector, which is not surprising since Israel's own Silicon Valley, Matam, is located nearby. The offices of Yahoo, Intel, Google, Philips, and many other companies can be found here. Each year, new successful startups are established in Matam, aimed at changing our lives for the better. Thousands of employees come to work in this most progressive neighborhood, making new breakthroughs in medicine, nanotechnology, cybersecurity, and creating the most advanced software and equipment. Matam works closely with many universities in the country, including the Technion in Haifa, and many of its employees are former students of these institutions. Matam and its enterprises have close ties with the Silicon Valley in California, which only contributes to its rapid development.
In addition to all these advantages, Neot Peres is strikingly cleaner than many other neighborhoods in Haifa. Green lawns, colorful flower beds, and an abundance of playgrounds and sports grounds delight the eye. The Sammy Ofer Stadium, named after the patron and businessman who donated $20 million to its construction, is located nearby. Around the stadium, incidentally the third largest in the country, there is a park where it is nice to take a walk.
I already mentioned earlier the proximity of the beautiful beach to the Neot Peres district. Just a 10-minute walk away is Dado Beach. A wide beach strip, dressing rooms with showers, walking and cycling paths, a surfing school, beach clubs, and various cafes await you on one of the best beaches in Haifa.
As for housing prices, they are higher than the city average, but as we know, comfort comes at a cost. Moreover, there are neighborhoods in Haifa that are even less attractive and have much higher prices. But even if you are willing to pay, don't rejoice too soon, available apartments here are not so frequent and they are quickly taken. There are many people who want to live here.
