The Templar tunnels in the city of Acre, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in Israel, are a unique historical site. These tunnels were built by the Templar Order in the 12th century and were used by them as underground passages within the Fortress of the Crusaders , as underground warehouses and defensive structures.
The Templar tunnels are about 350 meters long and consist of several sections connected to each other. The sections of the tunnels have different shapes and sizes, some of them look like large halls, and others like narrow corridors. Some parts of the path are low, and even children sometimes need to watch their heads. The tunnels connected the northern part of the Fortress with the port located to the south.
Today, travelers and tourists can walk through the tunnels and see the remains of the Templars' defensive structures and catacombs. This is a unique opportunity to see a part of Israel's history and feel the spirit of the Middle Ages.
